A stained ivory netsuke of a rakan with a shishi, by Kikuchika. Second half 19th century

With a large leaf held in the manner of a fan, seated on a shishi, which is holding on to a ribboned ball, while a boy sitting in front of them tries to pull the ribbon out of the shishi’s mouth. Signed Kikuchika.
