A large boxwood netsuke of an oni at setsubun, by Masakazu. 19th century

Hiding in a foot warmer (anka), the face and an arm visible in two round openings of the box, and various large beans of light brown wood and metal strewn over the anka and the oni’s muscular back. Signed Masakazu in a reserve.
