A Royal German 18k gold and enamel Renaissance revival brooch.

Set with an octagonal rodolite garnet and four pink tourmalines in foiled settings, as well as four Oriental pearls (not tested). Suspending a Baroque Oriental pearl droplet (ca. 11 x 7.5 x 6 mm). In the original case, labelled “Souvenir of Queen Elisabeth of Prussia”. The enamel slightly worn, the silver brooch pin replaced, minimal soldered repairs to the back. Incl. droplet H 5.7 cm. Weight 16 g.

Provenance

Bavarian private collection. According to tradition, the brooch was a Royal presentation to one of the consignor's ancestors in honour of her services to the school system.
