An ivory Shibayama lidded vase. Late 19th century

An ivory Shibayama lidded vase with a hanging basket with flowers and blossoming branches, an ewer and a bird underneath flowering hibiscus in variously coloured carved inlays. On the flat silver-lined lid a group of takaramono as a knob. Signed Masayuki on an inlaid mother-of-pearl tablet. Mounted on a low wooden base. Inlay of the bird and the spout missing. Late 19th century.
