A large ivory netsuke of a smiling Hotei with a karako. Late 18th century

The nearly triangular piece carved in the shape of Hotei standing with feet apart and lifting his robes as to wade through a stream, on his shoulders a tiny karako. Hair tuft of black horn.
Height 6.8 cm
