A large stained ivory netsuke of a karyôbinga, by Tomomasa. Mid-19th century

Flying facing ahead, holding a large flower to her bosom, the wings arranged neatly along her sides, the long tail feathers resembling those of a peacock. The eye pupils of black horn. Signed Tomomasa.
Height 2.4 cm; length 5.6 cm
