An 18th century Spanish carved wooden figure of the Madonna Immaculata.

Carved in the round. Probably with the original polychromy. A figure of the Virgin Mary shown floating above a crescent moon and a cloud formation from which angel's heads emerge. Her dress is richly decorated with ornamental and floral patterns. The drilled hole to the underside of the figure points to a former use as a processional figure to be carried on a pole.
With a short, narrow crack to the front left beside the knee. Minor wear to the polychromy. Height 63 cm.
