A Tamil Nadu gold marriage pendant (thali), the central element of a marriage necklace of elongated shape with floral ornaments and Lakshimi flanked by peacock scrolls in repoussé, openwork and engraving. The stippled letters VRC refer to the former owner. Weight 95 g (including the shellac filling). Southern India. Late 19th/early 20th century.
