Venice first half 17th century

A Venetian cast bronze candlestick with a putto, first half 17th century.

A standing figure of a winged putto supporting a candlestick on his back with raised arms. The figure screw-mounted to a three-sided base of the period with lion-paw feet. The piece can be assigned to the circle of Niccolo Roccatagliata's workshop (active 1593-1636).
One wing tip lost, minor wear. Height 25 cm (with foot).
