An 18th century Italian terracotta figure of the Virgin Immaculata

Worked in the round, with the original polychromy.. A figure of the Virgin depicted standing on the crescent moon floating above clouds with the vanquished serpent at Her feet. Her gown is richly decorated with flowers and stars. The authenticity of the sculpture and its polychrome decor was certified in writing by Anton Legner of the Museum Schnütgen in Cologne in 1982.
The little finger of the right hand lost. Minimal wear. Height 31 cm.
