A Kenzan style kôgô. 19th century

A Kenzan-style kôgô in shape of a camellia blossom, the body covered with a cream-coloured crackled glaze, the contours rendered in blue line drawing and the characters Kenzan at the base. Glaze flaking inside and restored crack. Wooden box inscribed on the lid Kenzan kôgô tsubaki (camellia) and on the reverse Kenzan tsubaki gata kôgô soko na ari, dated cyclically mizunoe ne (possibly 1852) and signed Ôkura Seifuku and kaô. 19th century.
