A pair of wood Buddhist lion-dogs. Around 1900

A pair of wood Buddhist lion-dogs seated, each with a young on their back, the male animal with a brocade ball, the female with a young animal climbing over its forepaw and with a small ball. The eye pupils of a black material, traces of red lacquer, the numerous cracks filled with putty, completely relacquered, the tail of the male animal restored. Around 1900. (2)
