A woman's unofficial informal robe. Late 19th century

A woman's unofficial informal robe of embroidered red silk with flowers and shou medallions in couched gold-wrapped threads, the collar and seam borders of embroidered black silk, the sleeve borders with thin woven borders. Turquoise silk lining. The black silk a bit damaged, and general traces of usage, especially at the shoulders. In addition a coat of apricot-coloured silk with woven dragon medallions and a blue silk lining. Traces of usage and buttons missing. Late 19th century. (2)
