A large ivory peg manjû of Sôjôbô and Ushiwakamaru. Mid-19th century

Carved in sunken relief with Sôjôbô, the king of the tengu, with a feather fan, a tokin on his head and crow’s wings at his back, in front of him Ushiwakamaru bowing deeply, on the reverse a half open scroll, and a landscape with cryptomeria under a full moon.
