A rare Hanau faience box and cover formed as a melon.

Fired together with a scalloped plate decorated with flowers and fruit. Blue P mark to the underside and in the lid. Restored. H 11.2 cm.

Zeh, Marburg 1913, pl. XXXV, for an identical round box without the applied flowers, then kept in the Landesmuseum Kassel.
