An early 16th century limewood figure of Saint Florian

Carved in the round and partially freestanding. Minimal remains of former polychromy. A figure of the saint dressed in armour and standing in contrapposto, designed for a frontal viewpoint. He holds a lance in his extended left hand and a bucket of water in his right hand which he pours upon the diminutive burning building at his feet. The work is characterised by the detailed depiction of the armour, the figure's long hair and his life-like features.
Breakages and a small replacement to the plinth. The lance associated. Height 76 cm.
