A South German ivory Corpus Christi, circa 1700

Carved in the round. A finely carved figure of Christ crucified with four nails. The perizonium is tied with a cord and falls in animated folds.
The arms visibly reattached. Slightly yellowed. Mounted together with the ivory subpedaneum to a velvet covered wooden panel. Height 26 cm, width of arms 14 cm.
