An early 18th century South German ivory Corpus Christi

Carved in the round. Christ crucified with four nails, the arms extended upwards.
The arms and fluttering lappets visibly reattached, one thumb lost. On a freestanding cross of the period (height 108 cm) with tortoiseshell inlays, ebony mouldings and silver angel's head appliques to the terminals. Height 28 cm, width of arms 11.5 cm.
