A wooden figure of a standing putto by Jan Frans Boeckstuyns

Carved in the round and partially free-standing. The back of the head slightly flattened. The arms subsequently reattached. A figure of a putto with distinctively carved features. He stands in contrapposto dressed in a loincloth and holding his head slightly inclined. The composition of this work follows a model devised by Jan Frans Boeckstuyn's teacher Lucas Faydherbe (1617-1697).
With several fine, vertical cracks. The lower left corner and right side of the plinth replaced. Height 98 cm (with plinth).
