A pair of bronze altar vases. Song/Yuan dynasty, 12th/14th century

A pair of bronze altar vases of square baluster shape with two dragon handles with loose rings, and flanges to the four corners of the middle section. In cast relief flowers and swastikas on leiwen around the foot and archaistic decoration with a taotie type mask on leiwen to the middle section, similar pattern to the neck. Black lacquer patina. Song/Yuan dynasty, 12th/14th century. Fitted and carved huanghuali wood stands. (2)
