A German silver gilt friendship box

Decorated to the lid with scattered flowers and applied acanthus and allegorical reliefs. The central rock crystal plaque applied with a music still life, bordered by mother-of-pearl. The underside with a dedication inscription reading "Gage d'Amitiè au mai 1773 F. de C.". In the original case. Stamped Hanau hallmark, fineness 12 Lot, maker's mark of Christian Friedrich Vogt (ca. 1800-1813), prestige mark with date letter P. 2.9 x 9.2 x 5.7 cm. Weight 158.4 g.
