A Parisian époque Louis XIV clock

Tortoiseshell, brass and tin marquetry on oak and softwood; ebony, walnut, brass and ormolu appliques. The brass dial with Latin hours and small Arabic numerals, 14-day movement with thread suspension and half-hourly striking to a bell. Engraved signature "DANIEL CLAVIER A PARIS" to the bronze applique on the dial and the plate. The pendulum replaced and converted to an anchor escapement, old restorations to the case, subsequent cracks, minor additions, later cloth to the dial. H 58, W 35, D 15.2 cm.
