A Neoclassical ormolu officer's alarm clock

Glazed enamel dial with gilt and blued hands. Day-running with verge escapement, central date aperture, hourly striking to a bell, quarter-hourly striking to two bells, alarm function to side. Engraved to the plate "C.A.R. Nr. 17" (possibly an owner's engraving). Chips to the enamel, the silk replaced. H 18.8 cm.
Last quarter 18th C., presumably French (acquired as Swiss).
