Northern Italy 17th century

A pair of 17th century North Italian bronze figures of grotesque chimeras

Cast in the round and with remains of old gilding.. These small figural bronzes with arms terminating in bat wings and legs turning into fins probably originated among the circle of Pietro Tacca. They both have lugs screwed into their backs, indicating that they may have originally formed the feet of a cabinet.
Drilled holes to the wings and lugs. Wear. Height of each 10 cm.
