Spain or Portugal 17th century

A 17th century Spanish or Portuguese ivory figure of the Maria Immaculata.

Carved in the round. With minimal remains of former polychromy.. A figure of the praying Virgin standing on a crescent moon. The piece is finely carved throughout, and even the hair falling in waves over the figure's back is carefully moulded.
With vertical hairline cracks, wear to the lower hem of the robe and yellowing. Höhe 15 cm.
