A South German carved ivory Corpus Christi, ca. 1700.

Carved in the round, minor remains of former polychromy. A figure of Christ crucified with four nails. His head bears the crown of thorns and is shown drooped to one side in death. Christ's nudity is covered only by a perizonium fastened by a cord.
The arms, previously attached via dowels, and the tip of the perizonium lost. Losses to the crown of thorns. Slightly yellowed. Height 17.5 cm.
