Probably Flemish 18th century

A presumably Flemish 18th century carved ivory Corpus Christi

Carved in the round.. A depiction of Christ crucified in the four-nails type, with His arms pulled apart and His head raised. The modelling of the perizonium and its fastening cord is equally as finely observed as that of Christ's body.
The arms visibly attached, several vertical cracks, only minimal wear. Mounted on a velvet covered wooden frame. Height 55 cm, width of arms 42 cm.
