A large bronze incense burner. 18th century

A large bronze incense burner in shape of an archaic ding, the globular body with taotie masks and running dragons in low relief supported by three taotie mask cabriole legs, the domed lid in two parts with dragons amidst clouds in openwork relief and with a Buddhist lion knob, probably not original. A long incised inscription at the base within a square reading Da Qing Kangxi wuxu (1718) mengdong zhi ji zao; ben jia xiang huo ci chong yong yuan; bao lu zuo gong feng and signed Chen Zhiguang jing zhu. 18th century.
