A hexagonal foliate brown lacquer tray with mother of pearl decoration. 17th/18th century

A hexagonal foliate brown lacquer tray with mother of pearl decoration on a stepped foot, depicting a group of scholars admiring a panel in front of a pavilion with the inscription Huangshan lou shang (A building on the Huangshan-mountains). Shaped reserves of flowering branches and plants to the rim. Decorated to the outside with scrolling foliage and a row of dots. Some minor damage and restoration.
