A shibuichi tsuba. 19th century

A shibuichi tsuba of oval shape with Shôki seated on a horse which is led through a stream by an oni, to the reverse an oni who is wading through water and carries Shôki’s travelling hat, all in iroe-takazôgan on a polished ground. Signed Yoshitatsu and toar (probably 1819 or 1831) hachi gatsu nichi. 19th century.
