Two South Netherlanish carved oak figures of Angels, late 15th century

Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverses flattened. Minimal remains of former polychromy. Two facing half-length figures of angels supporting large armorial shields. The faces, hair, and drapery of the figures finely wrought.
The wings lacking. The long support bands of the shields reattached. Minimal wear. Loosely pegged to newer wooden plinths. Height of each: 25 cm (with base).
