A large lidded vase of yellow-green serpentine. 19th century

Of flattened pear shape with elephant head and loose ring handles below the rim. The body carved on both sides in low relief with confronting rain dragons, their writhing bodies intertwined with flowering lotus tendrils held in their mouths. The lid carved with hanging leaves above a meander border.
