A coral-ground gilt medallion bowl. 19th century

The exterior decorated with four circular panels containing the characters for the greeting wan shou wu jiang (boundless longevity), surrounded by stylised lotus blossoms on leafy scrolls, bats and endless knots. The interior decorated to the centre with a roundel enclosing further stylised lotus blossoms and tendrils, all above a coral-red ground. Apocryphal Jiaqing six-character mark.
