A very large Samson Imari Vase. France. 19th century

A gu-shaped beaker vase with a trumpet-shaped neck, decorated in underglaze-blue, iron-red and gold to the central section with the coat of arms of Duke of Orléans with three fleurs-de-lys, the shoulders of the mid-section with ruyi-head and lozenge borders, the neck with the Three Friends of Winter pine, bamboo and plum, the lower section with peonies and other flowers and rockwork above a border enclosing flower sprays, the interior mouth rim with a floral border. Neck restored.
