A Mechelen carved wooden figure of the blessing Christ Child, circa 1500

Carved in the round. With older and presumably partially original polychromy.. A full-figure depiction of the nude Christ Child standing on a cushion, with His right hand aloft in blessing and holding a globe in His left hand. The underside of the cushion bears the mark of the city of Mechelen.
The cross formerly attached to the globe lacking. With only minimal wear. Loosely attached to a moulded wooden socle. Height 33 cm (without base).
