A Liégeois cartel clock

Carved oak with tin numerals and blacked hands. Eight-day pendulum movement with verge escapement and thread suspension. A rare wall clock formed as a large round cartouche flanked by curving C-form scrolls and reeds, presumably designed to hang over a fireplace. Engraved to the dial "Paul Conrard ALiège". Older repairs to the wood, the mouldings slightly loose in one area. H ca. 74, W 61.5 cm.
