South German 1st half 17th century

A South German carved ivory figure of Eve, 1st half 17th century

Carved in the round. A finely carved depiction of the nude Eve after the fall, facing slightly sideways and concealing her nudity with a tuft of grass. She wears a woven wreath on her head, from which a richly draped cloth falls over her back.
Fine vertical cracks, the feet damaged. The reverse yellowed. Mounted on a wooden plinth. Height 12 cm (without plinth).
