An East Tibetan gilt bronze figure of Amitayus. 19th century

Seated in vajrasana on a double-lotus base, his hands holding the kalasha, wearing a dhoti and jewellery inset with glass- and hard-stones. The face painted with applied cold gold and polychrome pigments, the blue-coloured hair in a tall chignon topped by a gilt flame. Base resealed.
