An ivory netsuke of a blind-folded man standing with a fan, his haori showing three tomoe-mon. Signed in seal form Masaharu. Late 19th century.
Height 4.5 cm

This nicely carved signature seal is found on several netsuke in the MCI (p. 410). Meinertzhagen is full of praise for this carver, describing his netsuke as "strikingly original and cleverly carved".

Collection Reinhold Schulze, acquired between 1937 and 1945 in Japan
