An ivory netsuke of a sennin with a long-haired dog. 18th century

The long-haired and bearded sennin stands turned to the right, lifting his belt with his right hand and holding the leash of a long-haired dog sitting on his shoulder.
Height 10.5 cm

The index card identifies the sennin as Izenshun. According to Weber and Joly this sennin was followed by a big black dog, which he could not shake off and had to feed. When the dog changed into a dragon, the sennin was taken to the abode of the immortals.
