A boxwood netsuke of Shôki and oni, by Kazuhide. Mid-19th century

The demon queller Shôki, with long beard and sword tied around his back, has captured an oni who is sitting in a tub by pressing down the tub’s lid with one foot and both his hands to prevent the oni from escaping.
