A large ivory netsuke of a recumbent ox and calf. Late 18th/early 19th century

Legs folded underneath, and head turned right, with a thick rope around the head and a thinner rope placed over the back, at its side a calf licking the mother’s cheek. The small eye pupils of brown horn. Inscribed Tomotada in a rectangular reserve.
Height 2.7 cm; length 7 cm
