A late 15th century Anna Selbdritt group, probably Franconian

Carved three-quarters in the round, the reverse flattened and hollowed out. The back left edge reattached. With partially overpainted older polychromy. A figure of the matronly Saint Anne standing in contrapposto and holding her daughter Mary and the Christ Child in her hands. The Virgin is depicted dressed in a long gown and holding a book in Her hands, the nude Christ Child holds a globe in one hand whilst blessing the beholder with the other.
The lower edge below Saint Anne's knee cut away. Mary's arms reattached. The fingers of Christ's right hand lacking. Wear throughout. Height 73 cm.
