A Mechelen carved wooden figure of the blessing Christ Child, circa 1510/1520

Carved in the round, with older polychromy. A nude figure of the infant Christ standing in contrapposto and facing toward the beholder with His right hand raised in blessing. The figure is lacking the attribute originally held in the left hand.
The right forearm and left arm visibly attached. Minor wear. Mounted on an associated wooden plinth. Height 42 cm (without plinth).
