An ivory netsuke of an Inari fox with a tama. Early 19th century

Seated on its haunches and turning the head back, the snout touching the tip of the upright tail, one forepaw placed protectively on a sphere, the age cracks of which reworked into the markings of a kemari ball. Restoration to the right foreleg and reworked chip to the left ear.
