A mahogany tambour writing table by Dusautoy

With brass mountings and white marble top. Small, multi-functional oval side table on four column supports. Smooth apron with three drawers. Stamped "I.P.DUSAUTOI" below the drum. Small older cracks, the lock lacking. H 76, W 49.5, D 35.5 cm.
Paris, Jean Pierre Dusautoy, Master in 1779.

This piece can be dated to the transition period between the ancien régime and the Directoire. The piece appears simple but is made from solid mahogany.
