A dated Hachmann mortar with a nereid

Cast bronze with dark brown lustrous patina. Decorated with a vacant heraldic shield supported by two winged half-figures. The reverse with a fish-tailed woman flanked by lions rampant. A broad banderole surrounding the rim inscribed in Gothic minuscule "leonhardt v. pier schenkt schuren dese visell", the base "ANNO DOMINI 1585" with dogs hunting rabbits. H 15.5, D 15.4 cm. Weight 5.1 kg. Including a corresponding pestle.
