A Bayon-style bronze Buddha altar. Cambodia. 12th/13th century

Cast in three parts. Seated in meditation, both hands held in dhyana mudra above the feet, on a rectangular throne with lotus ornaments to the front, and an inserted mandorla with leafy branches swinging out to both sides. Malachite and azurite patina.
