A bronze figure of Bodhisattva Guanyin. Southern China. 18th century

Seated in royal ease on a tall rock rising from waves, in her right hand a scroll, the left hand placed on the rock holding a string of prayer beads. To the front of the rock an inscription, a passage from the "Dabei zhou" (the Great Compassion Dharani). Traces of gilding.
