An Iranian fritware bowl with lion decor

Quarz frit bowl with black decor on blue ground under iridescent transparent glaze. Decorated with three striding lions to the centre and palmettes to the underside. Restored. H 7, D 18.9 cm.
Possibly Kashan, late 12th - 14th C.

Provenance

The Monheim Collection, Aachen.
According to the family, a gift from Mohammad Reza Pahlavi in the 1970s.
